
From your lodge, we will make our way to the Londorosi gate on the Western side of Mt. Kilimanjaro (a few hours drive from Arusha). We will begin our hike at the Lemosho trail head. Please note that in rainy/muddy conditions, sometimes the vehicles can’t make it to the true trailhead so there can be some extra hiking – After a picnic lunch, we will hike for about 4 hours to the forest camp. In the forest, exotic moss and flowers delight the eye while bird calls entertain the ear. You may see Black and White Colobus monkeys as well as signs of the elephants that travel in this area. We will overnight at Forest Camp. Hiking: 3-4 hours Overnight Altitude ~9,498’

As we leave the Montane Forest and enter the Hagenia zone, our views open and we will catch our first views of the Kibo peak. This is a good acclimatization hike, as we go up and down several ridges along the way to our highest point of the day at 11,500’ before descending to camp. Overnight at Shira 1 Camp. begins with a hike from Shira Camp, continuing east up a ridge while passing the junction towards Kibo. You'll change direction southeast towards the Lava Tower, also known as “Shark’s Tooth,” at an elevation of 4650m (15,250ft). After this, you'll descend to Barranco Camp, ending the day around the same elevation as when you started. This day is crucial for acclimatization. The elevation will go from 3850m (12,600ft) to 4000m (13,000ft) over a distance of 10km (6mi), taking about 5-6 hours. The habitat will be semi-desert, and you'll have breakfast, lunch, and dinner before overnighting at Barranco Camp

After breakfast we continue up a steep ridge to the great Barranco wall, then you climb this imposing obstacle which turn to be easier than it looks. Topping out just below the item 6 lacer you can now appreciate just how beautiful Kilimanjaro really is. With Kibo glaciers soaring overhead, you descend into the lush Karanga Valley camp site. From the camp you can look east and see the jugged peaks of Mawenzi. After a hot lunch in camp, your afternoon is at leisure for resting. This short day is very important for you acclimatization since your summit push is about to start.

you will start hiking to Barafu Camp (4640 m). On the way you will have a good view of the Kibo and Mawenzi peaks. After arriving at the campsite we have lunch and a long rest waiting for long-night and a day ahead. Dinner will be early and then try to get some sleep as we will be getting up around midnight to start climb to the summit

the most challenging, starting very early in the morning (midnight to 2 am) as you head towards the summit. You'll navigate between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers, ascending through scree to reach Stella Point on the crater rim. This stretch requires mental and physical endurance, but the reward is a breathtaking sunrise. From Stella Point, you'll continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 5895m (19,340ft). After summiting, you'll descend to Mweka Camp, stopping at Barafu for lunch. The elevation changes from 4700m (15,350ft) to 5895m (19,340ft) and then down to 3090m (10,150ft), covering 5km (3mi) up and 13km (8mi) down, with a total hiking time of 10-13 hours. You'll enjoy breakfast, lunch, and dinner before overnighting at Mweka Camp.
you'll have breakfast before descending to Mweka Park Gate to receive your summit certificates. The descent can be wet and muddy at lower elevations, so gaiters and trekking poles are advisable. After completing the 10km (6mi) hike down from 3090m (10,150ft) to 1680m (5500ft), taking 3-4 hours, you will be greeted by the Monkey Adventures vehicle at Mweka Gate for your return drive to the hotel in Moshi, which takes about 60 minutes. You'll have breakfast before concluding your trek
The Lemosho Route is often considered the most beautiful of all the trekking trails up Mount Kilimanjaro. It crosses the entire Shira Plateau from west to east in a pleasant, relatively flat hike. Crowds are low until the route joins the Machame route near Lava Tower. You get an extra day to acclimatize on Mount Kilimanjaro if you choose the 8-day Lemosho route plan. The Londorossi gate serves as the starting point for this 8-day Mount Kilimanjaro package for hiking the mountain through the Lemosho Route. The Mweka Route is used for the descent.You will be picked up from airport. From there you will go to the hotel in Moshi for an orientation on your trek. Your guides will be there to provide you with details on your trek and will also check your trekking gears.
